Buying
A Business
I was a business buyer
once, so I know what it’s
like. I didn’t really know what I was looking
for or how to go about it. Worst of all, I couldn’t
find anyone who really wanted to help so my business
is aimed at helping people like me, and you.
You could learn ten times more in a brief conversation
than spending hours “researching” so
give me a call for a real world chat about how
it all works. This is completely free and without
obligation. If you recognise yourself in one
of the three main buyer groups below, then I
can help.
1) I already
have a business but want or need to grow
it
Growing by acquisition is often the best way.
A good purchase will grow your turnover instantly
and improve combined profit by making cost savings.
It’s tax efficient, quicker and much lower
risk than spending thousands on sales and marketing
campaigns, particularly if your sector is anywhere
near saturation.
2) I’m
employed but want to be my own boss
There are a myriad of options here but generally
you’re restricted to a start-up business
or an acquisition. Most start-up businesses
fail within the first three years; the investment
can be greater; the lead time to cashflow
longer and finding finance harder. Buying
an existing business usually solves all of
these problems.
3) I’ve
been made redundant / offered early retirement
but still have to work
There’s a huge talent pool out there who
can’t find the right job to pay the salary
they require without compromising the lifestyle
they desire. Many of these individuals also don’t
have sufficient pension provision. In these situations
a good business acquisition may be the best answer.
It could pay you well and give you the flexibility
you want. In addition, with hard work (and sometimes
a bit of luck!) it can become a significant asset
which you can either sell or take an income from
when you wish retire.
Businesses come in all
shapes and sizes so there’s
a massive choice. Add in the variety of franchises,
both new and resales then there has to be something
out there for you.
My job is to help you find it!
